The City of Sugar Land sets new standards for livability for its residents and many businesses. Sugar Land also has been nationally recognized for its business climate and quality of life. In 2006, it was ranked third best place to live in the U.S. by CNN/Money Magazine. It was ranked the eighth best place in the nation to raise a family by the guidebook Best Place to Raise Your Family - The Top 100 Affordable Communities in the U.S. These sources recognized Sugar Land as one of the fastest growing communities in the nation and second in the U.S. for future job growth from 2006-2010. Sugar Land's population has grown 210% since 1990.
